Click image for detail view Imperial jasper: A cut above or a cut below - it's hard to believe that this stone can also contain red and brown if cut differently. The delicately rounded triangle is an overall soft, soft green with slightly darker inclusions crisscrossing on both sides. The hole runs straight through from one tip to the center of the opposite side. Origin: Mexico. 22mm x 24mm (15/16" x 15/16") Miyuki Delica: 1415, 374, 829 Design idea: Because of the gentleness of this green the rest of the design should be downplayed as well. Golden rainbow fluorite or flower jade works well and adds other soft colors. Light green aventurine or sea green jade are good matching greens. Add matte silver for contrast.

Click image for detail view Savannah jasper: You can't help but look at this sail-shaped focal and not think about looking across the sea to the horizon. The palest of milky blue-green leads to the depth of dark green teal at the bottom with a swath of dusty amethyst in the center. The hole runs side-to-side through the pale end. Origin: Madagascar. 52mm x 20mm (2 1/16" x 13/16") Miyuki Delica: 264, 386, 374, 112, 241 Design idea: We're struck by the soft curves of the focal so rounded pearls as opposed to stick pearls are our first choice. Fancy and ocean jasper have some nice pale purples and sea green jade can be light enough to contrast. Pale amazonite is another good choice. A few round emerald crystals add a nice touch.

It's brown, sort of, but then again it's mauve pink. The inclusions are darker with a few black ones to make things interesting. This large round piece has light and dark cherry cola lines running every which way.
